Every vaping forum has one - that thread where you show us the coils you have made.

All sorts of coils are wanted. Some of us need inspiration. If you could include details about the size, wire type and gauge and what it measures (ohms) then all the better. A description of how it vapes and in what equipment would be even better.

Here is one to start off

8 wraps of 28 gauge around a 2.5 mm bit. Measures about 1.5 Vamo friendly ohms. Wound on an AGA-T5 attie. Ran OK for me at up to 15/a8 watts...

i can't stand it anymore. a parallel coil is like a twisted coil without the twist [IMG]

not 2 coils in dual "parallel"

    *sigh*

So two coils, each a equal number of wraps of a single strand of wire, mounted in parallel with each other, is actually called .... WHAT?

"dual coils" unless both are from the same strand of wire [wrap one, pass through post, wrap the other] which is a "sleeper coil"

So this is properly termed "dual coils" -

    How is that NOT confusing?
Dual coils has always been 2 separate coils one on either side of an atty (sometimes on the same side but generally not), now we have "dual coils" that are wound into each other...

I am running Ni200 in my LemoII and it performs brilliantly..........

My first build was twisted 32 Ni200, 12 spaced wraps on 3mm. Came in at 0.31, a little higher than I expected. I pulsed the coils in wattage mode at 10 watts. I've had problems before with hot spots and I wanted to check, but there were none.

Wicked with KGD, used the double insertion method, did the whole hairdresser thing. Topped off with TVS's Orange sherbet, Cashmire Century. Running at 20J 180C on the SXM, but it doesn't go over 140C.

Next up........Quad twisted 30g spaced on a 3mm mandrel, 8 wraps came to 0.069 ohms........ I don't think it vapes as well as my first build though........

I made a coil. I wrapped some kanthal around a drill bit, slung it in an atty and was pleased to see it reading 1.3 ohms.

    I call it the super-duper-singlistic-retronomenal-hyperheaty-vapinator 2000.

i find twisted easier to work with, but am currently running single strand, dual micro coil 26awg. 0.28 or 0.32 ohm depending which ohm meter you believe

    really ugly coils

but they vape well, until they die a week or two later

I've looked at trying that - and there didn't seem enough room for ME to attempt it in my Kayfuns...

But I did have a go in an AGA-T5:

5 or 6 wraps each coil, at 2.5 mm dia. My first go at twins, and measured lower than exppected at about 0.70 ohm. Wicked with cotton - didn't last long, went back to a single.

here's an earlier build as per RipTrippers video

    2 x 10 wraps 30G on juice bottle blunt needles (20G I think? definitely smaller than 1mm)

I used 30G instead of 28G to try to keep the ohms up - didn't work 0.5ohms! - No good for my DNA

This coil & the Diamond Coil are the best performing coils I have made in the KF, excellent vapour and flavour, I think this one just comes out on top!

Phew.... I've never tried to go that small in coil diameter. Smallest I've ever tried was 1.5 mm for Protank coil heads (fiddly little suckers they are too!)

I guess I need to work more on my wicking. I've had troubles with 2 mm contact coils (singles) and yet you are getting good results with ones half the size. Oh well...

    A week or two later?
I get months out of my coils, literally 2 -3 months without needing to rebuild. Mostly using 26G, which helps because it's thickish but I can still make 1.5ohm coils with it if I want to, though I prefer 0.8-1.1, which conserves batt life & still gives plenty of everything in the vape.
Oh & I would never vape coils that looked that poor, those are like a cross between spaced & contact coils...

    Here's a Diamond Coil

12 Wraps of 28g (4x3 with gaps) 1.2Ohms. The Tarks Wick was a PITA to get through but I managed it! Highly recommend this coil.......it's a better vape than the Dragon but more difficult................Thanks RipTripper!
