Seems like there's problems with the charging boards, which are defunct in dual battery mods anyway, removing the charging board in the IPV4 seems to be solving the problem for those happy & competent enough to do it.

why is onboard charging defunct in dual battery mods?

because youre supposed to charge both equally at the same time?

    or other reason?

Because on board charging assumes there is 1 battery & attempts to charge 2 batteries as 1 battery, which causes problems like exploding mods.

Never use on board charging in dual battery mods!

It is because dual battery mods use a dominant battery to draw power from, therefore the batteries don't drain equally.
I also found you should rotate your batteries to 'even' them up for lack of a better term.

**just info I have learned from watching youtube videos on battery safety**

You should put a link to that video either here or in the new vapers thread.

I actually won one of these in a competition, didn't last a day though before it was up for sale. Didn't feel like quality at all.

I wonder what the new Sigelei TC 150W will turn out like :)
Looks a bit different to their 150W non TC.

Hopefully it performs better than it looks

Yeah I would prefer it was flat on top like their non TC dual batt boxes but if it is as well constructed & has a stable chip then it'll still be good.

If they finished it the same way they are finishing the 75w TC I'd be all over it

The IPV4 supposedly has a balance board for charging dual batteries, but apparently that is the faulty part. ZVaper shows how to remove it here:

Yea, reddit has been booming with people's mods failing, everyone there seem to be frantically removing their balance boards (apparently it's not hard, some people said there was nothing holding it in place...)
Apparently the reason behind the fault is a small insulator square on the balance board dislodges and moves in result the 510 can not touch the board and shorts, so you don't even need to use the inbuilt charging feature for it to fail...

Though I would only assume it would void any warranty

Glad I saw this! Thanks for posting.
I was literally just about to pull the trigger on a pair of these. Might look at the Sigelei 100W instead now....

I have the 150, it's a beast of a box. I have had zero issues.

Noe has a review on the 100, I might move my "review" of the 150 over here

Damn....no on board charging? Glad I saw this too. I've been on board charging the e-mech for ages, and with the arrival of the vaporshark had begun to regret recently buying a better dedicated charger and had put it away. Better unpack it again.

The only mods I'll use on board charging with is ones that have fixed batts, if they have removable cells it is better to charge them in a dedicated charger.
