Ok guys so need to buy some spools of wire but I suck at it. Seriously. My last purchase was a shit ton of 24g Ni200. Borderline useless. Fresh out of 24g Kanthal so want to grab a few for coil builds. Looking at prob few diff gauges Kanthal, Ribbon and maybe even SS as I have a geekvape coil of fused Clapton and that works well but being Clapton on the roll kinda takes the fun out of it.

I do like playing around with some of the trickier coil builds and experiment. Looking to get some pretty solid tc coils in the mix too. Any recommendations? Cheers

Im still new to coil building so take it for what it is worth but I went with a solid base of 24, 26 and 28 gauge wires. Fairly easy to make work in any set up so decent sized rolls is what I will be buying next when I need more.

26 & 28 G Kanthal are the most useful, as they're versatile & can be used in any atty to make a good range of ohms on your coils, from low to high ohm, when making "straight" wire coils.
For exotic coils, the lower gauge wires are not very useful, even 26G (which is my go to for most straight wire builds) is a bit too thick IMO, 28G can be useful as a core wire for exotic builds & anything up to 40G can be useful depending on the build.

For TC coils, if you're using SS, then 24, 26, 28 are all going to work as straight wire coils, depending on the atty they're used in.
